SUSTAINABILITY AT WINTER PRIDE

At Winter Pride Maspalomas, we are dedicated to sustainability and minimizing the environmental impact of our event. We want you to enjoy an unforgettable experience while we protect the environment and promote responsible practices. Discover our initiatives and learn how you can contribute.

1. Carbon Footprint Calculation and Compensation

Winter Pride has measured its environmental impact through a certified report that quantifies the greenhouse gas emissions generated during the event. In 2024, our carbon footprint was 9.83 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent. To offset part of this impact, we collaborate with the Foresta Foundation.

2. Sustainable Transportation

Since most attendees stay in Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, many can easily walk to the Yumbo shows and local pool parties. For the Wet&White pool party in Amadores, Winter Pride provides a free round-trip bus service, making transportation more sustainable. Additionally, we have arranged agreements to enhance the availability of public and shared transportation to Maspalomas.

3. Waste Management and Recycling

Our commitment to a greener Winter Pride includes proper waste separation and recycling. We provide clearly labeled bins throughout the event and work with specialized companies in sustainable waste management. Beverages are served in reusable cups, ensuring that no disposable containers are handed out. Our team is dedicated to recycling all used containers.

4. Responsible Use of Water and Energy

We promote water and energy conservation in all our venues. Efficient restroom facilities have been installed to minimize water waste. Moreover, we utilize low-energy LED lighting and schedule daytime events to reduce overall energy consumption.

5. Support for Local Businesses and Sustainable Products

We partner with local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint and encourage fair trade. All food and service providers at the event are local, which minimizes transportation emissions and supports the regional economy.

6. Protection of Beaches and Natural Areas

The beaches and natural landscapes of Maspalomas, including the iconic Maspalomas Dunes, are fragile ecosystems that must be preserved. We ask all attendees to adhere to the guidelines and signage in these protected areas—avoid littering, stay off restricted zones, and refrain from disturbing local wildlife. Let’s work together to preserve these spaces for future generations.

7. Adopt a Tree in the Winter Pride Forest

We have proudly partnered with Foresta for years, and you can adopt a tree via our website HERE. Winter Pride also makes donations and adopts trees to further offset its carbon footprint.
